Use ontown from ChatGPT or Claude
ontown works as a tool inside AI assistants. Once connected, you can ask what's on in a city, get details and sign-up links, or dictate an event and have it posted for you. It uses your Google sign-in, so events you post are yours to edit here.
ChatGPT
- Open chatgpt.com/plugins, press the plus button and choose Add custom MCP server.
- Name it ontown and enter this address:
https://ontown.app/mcp/ - Keep OAuth as the authentication method and confirm. You'll be sent here to sign in with Google and allow access.
Claude
- In Claude go to Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Enter the same address,
https://ontown.app/mcp/, and connect. Sign in with Google when asked.
Things to try
- “What's on in Gdańsk this weekend?”
- “Find free tech meetups in Lisbon next week.”
- “Post this to ontown:” followed by a pasted announcement or poster text. The assistant confirms the details, then publishes it and gives you the link.
What the assistant can do
Search events by city, words, period and category; read one event; look up cities and categories; list your own events; and post a new event, optionally with a link to a poster image. It cannot edit or delete events, and new posts go through the same spam check as posts made here.
To disconnect, remove the connector in the assistant. See the privacy page for what is stored.
