 \nJoin the USF Data Institute for a conversation between Lisa Thee\, AI ex
 ecutive\, founder\, and Head of the International AI Safety Commission at 
 the Global Council for Responsible AI\, and Shubham Atreja\, Assistant Pro
 fessor of Data Science and AI at the University of San Francisco. Drawing 
 on Lisa's experience building and governing AI across industry\, governmen
 t\, and nonprofit settings\, and Shubham's research on how computing techn
 ologies shape human behavior and society\, they will explore where respons
 ible AI is working\, where it falls short\, and what leaders\, practitione

 is an AI executive\, founder\, and board director with more than 25 years 
 of experience across startups\, Fortune 500 companies\, government\, and a
 cademia. She leads the International AI Safety Commission\, which works on
  global coordination for advanced AI safety and governance\, and teaches R
 esponsible AI at the University of Michigan. At Intel\, she led a partners
 hip with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children that used AI
  and analytics to cut the national response time to child exploitation rep
 orts from 30 days to 24 hours. She is an exited founder\, serves on the bo
 ards of several AI startups\, and is a TEDx speaker and author of Go! Rebo
 ot Your Career in 90 Days. She holds a degree in Industrial and Operations
  Engineering from the University of Michigan.\n\nShubham Atreja\, PhD (htt
 ps://www.linkedin.com/in/s-atreja/)\nAssistant Professor of Data Science a
 nd AI\, University of San Francisco\n\nShubham Atreja is an Assistant Prof
 essor of Data Science and AI at the University of San Francisco. He brings
  deep experience designing computing technologies in both industry and aca
 demia to understand how these systems shape human behavior and society. He
  holds a PhD in Information Science from the University of Michigan.\n\nAb
 out the Center for AI & Data Ethics\nThe Center for AI & Data Ethics at th
 e USF Data Institute addresses the responsible use of data and AI through 
 education\, research\, public policy\, and community engagement. Building 
 on the Data Institute's work in applied data ethics since 2019\, the Cente
 r brings together faculty\, students\, practitioners\, and policymakers to
  examine how algorithmic systems affect people and to develop practical ap
 proaches for building technology that serves the public good.\n\nAbout the

 F Data Science & AI Speaker Series\, which brings leading voices from indu
 stry\, academia\, government\, and civil society to USF's downtown campus
